Currency and Money Exchange in Xinjiang

Reminbi  (Chinese Yuan) is the current money in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is issued solely by the Peoples Bank of China. Money exchange can be done at every bank and hotels authorized for hosting overseas guests. Foreign currencies are exchanged for Reminbi at the buying rate of that day. Foreign travelers can exchange their surplus Reminbi for foreign currencies with their passports and "exchange receipts".
