DAY 1 Xi’an
Transfer via: flight - your arrangement
Activities for today: Airport to hotel transfer
Independent arrival at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, where our representatives will meet you at the arrival hall of the airport.

DAY 2 Xi’an
Activities for today: Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Ancient City Wall, Grand Mosque, Muslim quarters
This morning, meet your guide at your hotel lobby at 09:00. Drive to visit Xi'an Daqin Terra-Cotta & Lacquer Furniture Art Factory. In the factory, you can see the process of how to make Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses. Next, move on to visit the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. It is one of the most important archaeological finds in the 20th century; an army of terra-cotta warriors and the bronze chariots entombed in vast underground vaults at Emperor Qin's tomb since 2200 year ago. After lunch (your own arrangement), proceed to visit Xi’an Ancient City Wall and the Grand Mosque. Later, have a walk at your own pace at the nearby old Muslim quarters, where you can find all kinds of local food and snacks.

DAY 3 Xi’an - Jiayuguan

Activities for today: Airport transfer (Xi’an, Jiayuguan), Jiayuguan Pass, Jiayuguan Great Wall Museum
Morning free at leisure until be met and transferred to the airport for the flight to Jiayuguan. On arrival, meet the local guide and drive to visit Jiayuguan Pass and Jiayuguan Great Wall Museum. Jiayuguan Pass is the most magnificent and best-preserved ancient pass of its kind in China. The adjacent Great Wall Museum is full of artifacts tracing the history of the world’s longest wall.

If you arrange the flight on your own, we recommend that you select flights which arrive in your destination (Jiayuguan) no later than 14:30 on Day 3 of the itinerary or earlier, if possible. -
DAY 4 Jiayuguan - Dunhuang
Activities for today: Shazhou Night Market
After hotel breakfast, we will drive about 4 hours to Dunhuang. Check in the hotel and free at leisure in the afternoon. In the evening, your guide will take you to visit the night market at Shazhou.

DAY 5 Dunhuang
Activities for today: Mogao Grottos, Western Thousand-Buddha Caves, Echoing-Sand Dune, Crescent Lake
Today begins with a visit to Mogao Grottos, a system of 492 Buddhist cave temples. They are the greatest and most consummate repository of historical and cultural collection over a thousand years between China and other nations. The most noted collections are many pilgrims painted murals, Clay statues and 50, 000 manuscripts written in many languages. In the afternoon, tour to explore the Western Thousand-Buddha Cave (1 hour) which is situated to the west of Mogao Caves. The surrounding landscape is blessed with healthy ancient trees, and a nearby brook runs clear and clean, making this impressive repository of Buddhist art feel. Late afternoon, we will continue to visit the Echoing-Sand Dune to reach the Crescent Lake (2 hours). You may choose to experience a short camel-riding (optional, CNY100/pp). Surrounded by rolling ridges and precipitous cliffs, Echoing-Sand Mountain reaches a relative elevation of 250 meters. Every time when the wind sweeps across the sands, a thunder-like sound can be heard from the mountain, and the sound like musical instruments if there is a breeze, hence the name. Nearby, locates the Crescent Lake. It is a natural spring fed pond measuring about 240 meters from east to west, and 50 meters from north to south. It looks clear and beautiful quietly.

DAY 6 Dunhuang - Exit

Activities for today: Yumenguan Pass, Great Walls of Han Dynasty, airport transfer
Today we begin at Yumenguan Pass, which is a part of the Great Wall. It is said that the jade (jade is pronounced Yu in Chinese) from the western regions was brought into the central plains through this pass, hence the name. Next, move on to the Great Wall of Han Dynasty (206BC-220). Different from other sections of the Wall built of bricks and stones, this section was built of rammed earth, sanded reeds, junipers and tamarisks. After sightseeing, you are escorted to Dunhuang Mogao International Airport for the flight to your next destination.
